Bantayan Island: Santa Fe Beach Club

Santa Fe Beach Club, Bantayan Island

About three weeks ago, I finally set my foot on the white sands of Bantayan Island for the first time. I went there together with my teammates and friends for a short weekend getaway. The days before have been so hectic with all the planning and budgeting for the trip and I couldn't really make it without my friend slash workmate, Nolan. We've been searching for nice resorts to stay for the weekend and fortunately, our team lead suggested we book at Santa Fe Beach Club. So here, let me share to you our first day at Bantayan Island. Enjoy!

DAY 1: SANTA FE BEACH CLUB, BANTAYAN ISLAND

Our assembly time was 6AM at Cebu North Bus Terminal to take the 6:30AM bus schedule going to Hagnaya Port. If you're not familiar how to get to Bantayan Island, see details I have provided below. *wink*

Getting there:

  1. From North Bus Terminal, ride a bus going to Hagnaya. Estimated travel time is 3-4 hours. Aircon bus is P170 while a Non-Aircon bus is P132.
  2. Upon arrival at Hagnaya port, take a ferry bound to Santa Fe Port. Estimated travel time is 1 hour and 30 minutes. Ferry ticket costs P170 plus a P10 terminal fee.
  3. From Santa Fe Port, you can get around the island by riding a tricycle or by renting a bicycle for the day. Tricycle fare is P20 while bicycle rental is P150/day. However, if you book at Santa Fe Beach Club, they offer free transport service going to the resort from Santa Fe Port and vice versa.

Santa Fe Beach Club from afar. It is actually the first beach resort that you'll see as soon as the ferry approaches Santa Fe Port. We arrived at Hagnaya Port at around 10AM and took the 10:30AM ferry schedule. However, the ferry already departed at around 11AM so we arrived at Santa Fe Port at around 12:30NN. After getting off the ferry, we walked to the pier and saw the resort's staff flashing a welcome note with my name on it (since I was the one who took charge of our accommodations).

I mentioned above that when you book at Santa Fe Beach Club, they offer free transport service so we rode on their free shuttle (which was a nice air-conditioned mini bus, take note!) going to the resort.

The photo above is their main building where there Information desk and restaurant is located. Check-in time is 1:30PM but fortunately even though we arrived an hour early, they still accommodated us and led us all to our rooms.

Santa Fe Beach Club Accommodation Details:

Check-in Time: 1:30 PM
Check-out Time: 11:30 AM

Cottage Family Room – P1500/night
This is a non-aircon room and is good for five (5) people. Maximum of one extra person/mattress only.

Cottage Triple Backrow – P1000/night
This is also a non-aircon room and is good for three (3) people. Still, maximum of one extra person/mattress only.

Clubhouse Twin – P1800/night
This is an aircon room and is only good for two (2) people with a maximum of one extra person/mattress only.

They charge P280 for every extra person/mattress per room. They have other types of rooms available, just contact them through the information I provided at the end of this post.

Their cottage rooms were nice and each had its own porch which was a good place for us to gather and relax. Each room had its own bathroom as well. And since I'm very OC when it comes to bathrooms I was thankful that they have kept it nice and clean for the guests.

As much as I really wanted to jump and swim, I was not able to because after taking lunch, we all rested and had power naps to recover from the exhausting trip we had. At around 4PM, we spent the whole afternoon playing games and the tide was already too low.

The next morning, Nolan woke me up at 5AM because we decided that we wanted to see the sunrise. The beach was so tempting but it already had jellyfishes swimming around so no we didn't want to risk taking a dip. Sigh.

Overall, I must say that our stay at Santa Fe Beach Club was great. Their staff were nice and very accommodating. They provided us great customer service. Their rooms were very affordable too which is perfect for couple, family, and group getaways. So there it is! I hope you enjoyed this post! And I hope I can give you more travel posts soon! Anyway, stay tuned as the second part of our Bantayan Weekend will be up next! Ciao! xx
