Must-Visit Attraction in Cebu: Taoist Temple

Aside from white-sand beaches, Cebu also has a lot of attractions that shouldn't be missed. When you're in Cebu, your visit won't be complete without going to the Taoist Temple!

Must-Visit Attraction in Cebu: Taoist

The Taoist Temple in Cebu is located in Beverly Hills Subdivision in Lahug, Cebu. My friends and I decided to spend our holiday by visiting this must-visit attraction. We met at JY Square in Lahug and luckily, one of my friends was approached by a man who offered us a ride going up there for only Php 400 for the four of us (Php 100 each). He was driving a mini van and he said that if we're going to the temple via a habal-habal or motorcycle, we will be paying the same amount but the habal-habal can't get inside the subdivision so we have to walk going up to the temple. It was such a fortunate coincidence and I personally thought maybe we looked like tourists that he approached one of us and offered us a ride. LOL

Anyway, here are some facts and reasons why visiting the famous Taoist Temple is one you should definitely not miss.

The Taoist Temple was built in 1972. It is the center of worship for Taoism, the religion that was founded based on the ancient teachings of the Chinese Philosopher, Lao Tzu.

The temple's architecture and design is a typical modern Chinese religion architecture with a predominant red and green color scheme, pagoda-style roof, and lots of dragons.

The temple is elevated 300 meters above sea level. When at the topmost part of the temple, you get to see the beautiful panoramic view of Cebu City.

    1. I'm not sure if this is really what you mean, Ochi. Pero yes there are steps/stairs you can take going up the temple. Pero there's another entrance na wala ng stairs :)
